Behind The Book | Club Spotlight

Welcome to “Between the Bookends,” where we celebrate the beauty of books, the joy of a warm cuppa, and the magic of conversations that bloom between friends and pages. I’m spotlighting our OCCASIONAL book club and the enriching discussions that will take place.

Our book club, affectionately named “Behind the Book,” is where we’ll dive into a new literary adventure. From Christian Living and heartwarming tales to clean mysteries and more, the book selections will be as diverse as the wonderful individuals who make up our group. One of the things that makes our book club truly special is the heartfelt conversations that will flow freely and share our personal takeaways.

Since I’m just starting out, book clubs will be occasional until I get the hang of things. As we sip our favorite cuppas of beverage and settle into our cozy online nook, the pages of the books come alive with each member’s varied perspectives and experiences.

One of the best aspects of our book club discussions is how a single passage or character can spark a deep connection. Whether we nod in agreement, shed tears of empathy, or shake our heads in disbelief, every emotion and reaction adds layers of meaning to our shared reading experience.

In addition to exploring the themes and intricacies of the book, our conversations can perhaps veer into personal anecdotes, musings, and ponderings. It’s amazing how a work of both Fiction and Nonfiction can serve as a springboard for exploring questions about Jesus, life, love, and the human experience.

Our conversations will linger on in our thoughts and hearts until we meet again. Our book club stands as a beacon of friendship and human connection in a chaotic and disconnected world.

So here’s to the pages that bring us together, the words that inspire us, and the conversations that enrich our lives. May our book club continue to be a space where minds and hearts intertwine, stories are shared and cherished, and the love of reading unites us in a bond that transcends time and distance.

So How Will Our Occasional Book Clubs Play Out

1. I’ll post details about each new book club.
2. I’ll be choosing a variety of genres. 
3. Books will be clean content— basically NO horror, blood and guts, or anything that marginalizes Jesus.
4. I’ll post quotes and questions to get us talking. The questions will be optional because I want to hear your thoughts and any questions you want to add for the group to ponder.
5. We’ll meet weekly with blog posts and discussions posted on Fridays. 
6. We’ll split the book up over 4 weeks.
7. Each book club will remain open, so anyone can join the discussion anytime.
8. At Times, I’ll send out a call for recommendations post.
9. Please email me any recommendations you might have.
